Storage plus
Iso-tanks - so much more than storage.
The opportunity
The Kaikoura earthquakes of 2016 caused carnage throughout the Marlborough-based wine industry.
Buckled steel and compromised infrastructure threatened the immediate vintage and bought the industry-resilience conversation front and centre.
CEL were well-placed to respond - understanding the need for emergency storage options as the industry recovered over time. Without contracts in place, CEL speculatively leased 150 Iso-containers from Australia, making them available to customers and the industry at large, ensuring stable liquid storage for the duration of the recovery.
Five years later these Iso-tanks have been repurposed in numerous ways. More environmental friendly than plastic-heavy bladders, Iso-tanks now underpin bulk liquid movements between Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the world, and between production and bottling facilities in the North and South Islands as well as locally.
